Dear Students,
Welcome to the blog, this will count like a quiz grade worth 20points total , which does not seem like much, but considering the whole class is worth 100 points it is 20%. So last semester, the folks that were consistent did well and the others well a C.
So each week I will pose a comment or question You have until 5:00 the next Thursday class to answer it. Here is the catch
Say if Iposed the question "Who was an interesting artist to you "and you answer ex(Monet because he used complementary colors to show vibrancy) the next blogger would have to use another artist or could say Monet but would have to give a different reason.
Also create a blog account or sign in as anonymous but sign it with your name.or you will not get credit.
So after you post make sure you check that it is up.
I will not take your word for it.
Have a great semester
Sincerely,
Professor Riske

hey prof. Riske, this is Sana Jumani..I couldn't find any question but I just wanted to post a blog to just to let you know that I've signed up.
Hello Prof. Riske,
I do not see you question either, but since you mention in your example what artists I find interesting, I must say that Salvador Dali is in one of my top favorites. He was a surrealist and i find his work facinating and unique. I like how he integrates juxtaposition in his art and it still makes sense in the whole of the painting. I also love the fact that his wife was the inspiration of most of his work.
Professor Riske,
I'm not quite sure how the blogging works, and I can't find your question either, but I will at least post your example. Vincent Van Gogh is an artist I find particularly interesting. I love his use of color, and how you can see every brush stroke in his paintings.
Hey Prof. Riske,
I didn't know if you wanted us to answer the example question but one of my favorite artists would have to be Van Gogh. He was a Postimpressionist painter and a lot of his paintings were produced in a 29 month period of frenzied activity and intermittent bouts with epileptoid seizures and profound despair that finally ended in suicide. I really like his style its sort of has a whimsical feel to them like his most popular painting "The Starry Night."
Well..just like everyone else I was a little confused on what to respond too. But I wanted to go ahead and mention an artist I was kind of impressed by. I was impressed by Edward Weston because he was able to take a simple photo like the picture of cabbage in the text and make meaning and art out of it.
